Packing Robot
A Cartesian designed robot for packing or moving objects.
This
Packing Robot is an x, y, and z
Cartesian design. It has a unique
linear bearing arrangement that uses four linear bearings per axis. This design gives it accuracy and rigidity. At the same time it is lightweight to give the drive maximum obtainable acceleration. A unique Timing belt drives are used to absorb the initial extreme thrust from the motors. Two belts are used on the x and y axis to provide a
balanced drive. The z-axis uses a single timing belt rack to keep the mechanics out of its work envelope and to insure the smallest possible head size. A
vacuum head system is provided with the packing robot that can exert more than adequate suction.
The framework that the packing robot is made up of uses a
bang together square section frame. This means that it can be quickly and easily adapted to your application.
Micro switches are placed at the origins so that each time the origin coordinates are called the packing robot
eliminates any error that might have accumulated.
Software:
The unit comes with a standard program that calculates packing sequences from box size, part size, box position and pick up position. All you need to do is put in these parameter and then hit the start button and the program will transmit the data rs-232 to the onboard computer that is supplied with the system. If you transmit this data within the first 5 seconds of robot power up then the robot will save this data to hard disk and every time the robot powers up in future it will go the origin and will start the packing sequence.
If you wish to use your own robot position calculation program you it is as simple as sending out:
- x, position, y, position, z, position, h, position CR
Once you have finished transmitting, you finish transmission by sending:
The rs-232 data is as follows:
- 9600 baud, data bits = 8, no parity, no flow control.
Features:
- 700mm X * 700mm Y * 500mm Z working envelope
- Speed: 0.5 meters per second
- Lifting capacity: 1Kg
- Accuracy: 0.02mm
- Repeatability: Is almost infinite due to its reset function at each pickup
A screen shot of the supplied position calcultion program
The system is supplied with
every thing you need for the robot to pack.
It also comes with extensive documentation and
example Visual Basic .NET code for rs-232 Communications and packing position calculations.
All that you need is a windows computer to load the supplied packing program on to transmit the packing position coordinates to the robots onboard pc. Once you have loaded the positions on to the Packing Robot it does not need to be connected ever again.
This unit is fast, accurate and low cost due to its unique design!
